John Wright Sports Centre, East Kilbride

Phased refurbishment at the John Wright Sports Centre for South Lanarkshire Council was a project that presented several challenges for the GHI team. The building remained fully operational, throughout, requiring the implementation of site segregation to maximise public safety and restrictions on accessibility.

As part of the redesign and upgrading process for the centre, GHI stripped-out and refurbished the changing rooms, shower areas and toilet facilities, as well as installing new air conditioning, lighting, small power, and providing joinery finishes and decoration.

Successful delivery was achieved through flexible working and strong communication with the centre management team, ensuring that the refurbishment works did not impact upon the staff, the public, or the operation of the building.
