Scottish Enterprise Borders

Ettrick Riverside, Selkirk

Ettrick Riverside is a former mill, built in the 19th century, which is undergoing a transformation
into a business centre by Scottish Enterprise Borders. GHI secured the refurbishment and fit out of Phase 2 of this project under competitive tender in July 2004. The works involved taking a single floor of approximately 12,000 sq ft, which had been untouched since the mill closed and completely refurbishing the interior comprising repairs to floor structure, wall and ceiling linings and new electrical, ventilation and heating services.

The fit out comprised the installation of a raised access floor, feature lighting, communications infrastructure and provision of toilets and kitchen space. Internal solid and glass partitions
sub-divided the floor into office suites, the principal tenant being Lyle & Scott. The fit out was modern and functional yet remained sympathetic to the historical features retained within the building and in turn has led to GHI securing new opportunities with this client.
