Corporate Social Responsibility

GHI’s policy on CSR is a progressive process, which seeks to ensure that we act responsibly as a company, to the benefit of the Environment, the Community, our Clients & Supply Chain and our Employees.

GHI aim to continuously raise our contribution in each of these key areas, being voluntarily  accountable for taking our responsibilities above and beyond the legal requirement.

We link the success of our business to our strategic core values, and to  improvements and benefits in each of our key contributory roles: Environmental, Community, Trader & Employer, as defined below.

Further information on GHI’s CSR policy is available upon request.

Environmental Responsibility

GHI are dedicated to ensuring that we minimise any detrimental effect on the environment caused by any of our projects, either by our own actions or those of our subcontractors or suppliers. Moreover we are firmly committed to investigating any potential methods by which our actions can improve and enhance the existing environment.

This ethos is driven by GHI’s Board of Directors, who take every opportunity to encourage and promote this responsible attitude to each staff member and site operative, as well as our supply chain.

We recognise that, while the effect of our individual actions may be limited, the cumulative results of our contributions can be of benefit to our project, our client, and our staff, as well as the environment.

Community Responsibility

GHI are determined to play their part in the local and wider community and are active, both as an organisation, and in encouraging and empowering our staff to participate.

This takes the form of integrating with educational establishments to promote skills within the community, partnering with Development organisations to deliver community benefits, sponsoring local activities, and contributing to various charities on both local and national levels.

Trading Responsibility

As a responsible trader, GHI are committed to encompassing all the relevant responsibilities which our clients, suppliers and subcontractors are entitled to expect, and providing an open and transparent forum in which our business can be transacted, to the benefit of all.

In addition to the legal and obligatory requirements of registration, insurances and basic H&S requirements, GHI will always seek to attain the highest level of achievement in Training,  Health & Safety, Certification and Accreditation to the relevant organisations, maximising our knowledge, skill level and communication to all parties.

Employment Responsibility

GHI is very aware of its responsibilities to its employees, and are proactive in ensuring that we embrace all possible organisational procedures to their benefit, as well as maintaining our position as an enlightened and leading employer within our industry.

Enhanced employee initiatives, encouraging and empowering our workforce through training, workshops, personal performance programmes and excellent development and career opportunities, ensure a high proportion of staff retention. This gives our people, the client and the company a high level of continuity.

GHI have been accredited to Investors In People (IIP) since 2002, an accomplishment that was achieved in a very short period (compared to the industry standard), due to having already initiated the majority of the required procedures, as a matter of course.

As a company, we consider the health and welfare of all our employees, as well as their future development with the company.
