Gordon Cairns

Managing Director

Joined GHI: 1997

I started at GHI as a Project Manager, whilst the company was still in its infancy. As the business developed I moved into the position of Project Director and then Managing Director in 2004. Along with Craig and Sallyann we successfully completed a managed buy out of GHI in 2023. I am responsible for the strategic growth and development of GHI, working closely with the senior management team to achieve our business plan goals, business development, estimating and pre-construction. Outside of work I enjoy a game of golf, watching most sports, catching the odd movie and spending time with family & friends.

Craig Sibbald

Projects Director

Joined GHI: 2003

I am a Chartered Building Surveyor, who worked for the Client side of Project Management before joining GHI Contracts. My role includes delivering Building Refurbishment and Fit-out Contracts for Legal, Finance, Retail, Property and Public Sectors. A Director since 2006, I manage the Projects Teams and overseethe Construction Phase Project Delivery. In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit for my main activity of Road Cycling. I also enjoy playing golf and spending time with my friends and family.

Sallyann Hunter

Administration Director

Joined GHI: 1997

I joined the company over 26 years ago, as Office Manager, before joining the Board in 2003 As head of Finance and Administration within the business, my responsibilities include financial management, admin, HR and IT. Away from work I enjoy travelling, walking and going to the gym.

Dave Watt

Quality & Operations Manager

Joined GHI: 1997

I started my career at GHI working as a ceiling fixer, then moved into the role of Foreman. Moving through the ranks, I became a Site Manager, progressing to Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager. My personal interests include family holidays, golfing holidays, playing golf, talking about golf and above all else my grandchildren (as they have not started talking back to me yet!)

Chris Connelly

Business Development Manager

Joined GHI: 2014

Business Development is a multifaceted process that involves building relationships and identifying new business opportunities. My role of BDM at GHI involves expanding the customer base, while maintaining relationships with existing clients to maximise chances of repeat business. I’m an avid gym goer and currently exercise 6 days a week as part of my own personal goals, which helps maintain balance in my life and work. Football has been an interest of mine since I was a child and it continues to be as I enter my older years.

Michael McAvoy

Commercial Manager

Joined GHI: 2023

I lead the commercial team, delivering our key company values and focuses on building lasting relationships with our supply chain and clients. I have 20 years’ experience in the industry delivering a variety of prestigious projects within the commercial and healthcare sector. I enjoy spending time with family and following football. In my spare time I also enjoy mountain biking and playing the occasional game of rugby.

Ross Galloway

Senior Estimator

Joined GHI: 2017

I joined GHI in 2017 and now have the role of Estimating Manager, prior to this I worked in architecture, manufactured joinery, shopfitting and fit-out. I am responsible for the estimating department, ensuring that all tenders are examined thoroughly and submitted on time. I enjoy travelling, trying new restaurants and following football.

Estimator

GHI are currently seeking an Estimator to join our team.

Based at GHI’s office in Bellshill this is a role for an estimator or junior estimator from a principal contractor or related sub-contractor background. The ability to be organised, disseminate information accurately and to meet deadlines is crucial.

Candidates must demonstrate:

• Experience in an estimating capacity within a main contractor / fit-out business

• In depth knowledge of the Scottish construction supply chain market

• The drive and ability to self-manage workload

• The ability to establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

This role has a defined career development opportunity and offers a very competitive salary package based on successful candidates’ experience.
